Class starts!

I went to ShiLin Night Market with my cousins from my dad's side. Its hard to see the menu items, but I ordered spaghetti in a pumpkin cream sauce with bacon. It was delicious.

Milk tea in a bag! Yum.

I went to KTV again! This time with my other cousins.

And I met up with JEN KUO! We bought some of my mommy's favorite fruit =]

If you can read it, these are the rules for my intensive chinese class.

Chinese is soooo hard! Ahhhh!.... bleh.

Some more Tainan

Other than the temples, I went to a restaurant that served traditional Tainan food as well. The tables were elementary school desks. Kevin was too big for the chairs. =] The food was really good though.

For more Tainan pictures, look on my facebook!

Adventures so far

I figured I'd make a photo blog of sorts to let family and friends know how I'm doing in Taiwan.
This post will be quick, but I think I'll use this as a chance to practice my chinese too... so hopefully by the end I'll be able to post in both English and Chinese. Yay!

So here's what I've been up to...

I'll start with a picture of the flight =]

The flight attendant asked if I wanted 'chi-si dan gao' which literally translated to cheese-cake. I didn't want the other thing so I ordered it. They gave me an omelet. Haha. Who knew... because of the cheese on top they called it a cheesecake...

This is the view from my grandma's house, where I'm living.

On my second or third day, I visited my cousin Madeline in the hospital. She had pneumonia =[ But now she's all better an visiting family and friends in the US! PTL

So we found out my grandma is in a museum! Haha. The place where she used to work is a historical landmark, so they turned it in to a museum. There's a picture of her an her coworkers in there, and one of her old notebooks too, with her name on it an everything! She's the tall lady in the middle, with the darker shirt on. =)

I met up with Jen Chuu! =) I took her to ShiLin Night Market and Taipei Main Station so far. We were both so excited that we got to explore Taipei together.

I went to KTV(karyoke) with my cousin and his friends. It's so nice in Taiwan! The place seems more like a hotel really. Everyone gets really nice rooms. Each room has its own bathroom. Its 279 NT (~$8.72) per person and we got 800 NT worth of free food! Small dishes, dim sum, and drinks galore! Chyea!

Adventures in Tainan! I visited a few temples with my uncle and my cousin Kevin.

We went to a local fish market and bought fresh seafood. Kevin prepared most of the food for us.

We played tennis in the afternoon too. It was SO HOT. So we stopped after like half an hour.
